I put a new motor in my 90ls, when i took the old motor out i looped the lines that go from the power steering rack through the speed sensor valve. When i started the motor back up i forgot to hook them up to the valve. Now the power steering doesnt work at all. The power steering rack makes an awful noise when turning, and it feels like the PS pump is actually working against the turning process. I have removed the ps belt so the pump isnt pumping and it feels a teeny bit better, but still extremely hard to turn.

From what i can tell by looking at the helms manual, the speed sensor valve stops the flow of ps fluid when the car is sitting still, which increases the pressure somewhere in the rack making steering easier. There are however bypass valves in the valve also (not sure where they bypass the pressure too) so i would assume there is still some flow through the valve, but not as much as there is when the car is moving. By bypassing this valve could i have jammed some sort of valve either open or closed?

Another problem i have now... if i hook the lines up to the speed sensor valve, i cant get them to stop leaking. No matter how tight i put hose clamps on the hoses... it still leaks fluid heavily from around them.

Any ideas wtf i did to my powersteering rack?

almost the same thing is happenin with my 90 integra also. guy that i bought it from disc. all the power steering lines and now my rack and pinion is trash. it doesn't steer at all
