JDM ek sir bumper vs. Replica sir bumper
I was looking at the ek bumpers (Front and rear) for the coupe, and the replicas seem to fit like ****, and the grille looks longer, along with the mouldings on the front bumper. Is this true? Or is this just how it seems because its a knock off.

Hell Yeah! My boy ordered a megan racing muffler for 125 bones about 2 months ago and still hasnt gotten it. Fu** dem fools yo. Get the real deal anyway.
yeh but its getting hard to tell on those sir bumpers if they are real or not. and to order some for 500-700 and you get them fake, you would be mad. if its a knock off bumper, IMO i wouldn't spend no more than 150 on em. just go with password or even on eBay, there is a company out of Malaysia that sells used ones. and they are real legit. i know of a couple people that have ordered from that place, and they come in like 3 days, and they are real ****.
IMO don't buy replica if OEM produces the same thing. Pay more and go OEM you'll be MUCH happier in the end. This doesn't apply to everything but body parts is one of them imo. Because if you get a replica and it fits like crap or you don't like it for whatever reason. You'll just end up having to put it back up on the market or ship it back to the seller. In the end costing you more than if you would of just done it right once
yeah the huge debate was on the "civic's with sir-bumper" thread..i think page 28..but yeah it was me that started the debate and ppl where claiming that the coupes originally had oem sir bumpers off the front line = FAIL...but i know that sedan rear bumper fits the coupe
so its all good.. i just get kind of a nit picker at these kind of things, like when ppl call there coupes an ek bwahahahhahaha lol

Buying replica is more of a gamble than buying OEM parts.
Like .brian. already said, I would not buy from JDMCarBoy since they seem to have horrible reliability.

Look in the Classifieds for bumpers for sale. I try to steer clear of Password:JDM because of some of their business practices that I wasn't initially aware of. They sell parts overpriced until they can replicate them and then sell those parts for the same or more.
As OneFire mentioned, coupes and sedans can use the same rear bumpers. You can also put them on a '99-'00 rear end.
There's actually nothing special about the bumpers on SiRs overseas. These bumpers come on all sorts of 1996-1998 Civic trims in many countries overseas. They come on hatches and sedans.
I can go down the list and figure out a lot of trims that use them.
So these are just "bumpers". Overseas some people even call the bumpers that we get here (the front '96-'98 bumpers and rear '96-'98 coupe/sedan bumpers) just plain "coupe bumpers". For some countries if you want a hatch without the black molding on them, you need to either buy a rear bumper from overseas and buy a coupe bumper (if your country even has coupes) or have the molding shaved.

I get the chassis code thing. There's no need to use them, but if you're going to use them, make sure you know what they mean, right?
the ek squad???most of the rides in ek squad are all ej6...but we all know they go by ek right??? i dont see a coupe in ek squad..
i just call my US ej6 an ek because the same way everyone else knows hatchs by..

At the very least, there are members in the EK SQUAD who do not own hatches. I don't know how their membership works though. I think sometimes people just stay in even if they total or sell their car.
Calling your car just an EJ6 can still cause problems since sometimes it does matter what body style or trim (because of options) the car actually is. At the very least it's an EJ6 hatch or an EJ8 coupe, etc.
haha once in the ek squad, your always in the ek squad.
forget this debating and lets get this guy some sir bumpers, any other sites that are legit??

OEM over replica any day. It's the same sense in comparison to USDM OEM bumper vs. USDM replica bumper. Replica does not fit properly, holes don't line up like they should. Buy a replica and you will understand what I am talking about.
Heres how mine look, its a replica and i got them from Bayson R Motor Sport in San Jose. They fit PERFECT, with no modifications needed & direct bolt on. (the tiny gap between the front bumper and fender is because i was using zip ties.) I know they dont have such things as SiR coupes but thats why i like em, its something different.

The problem is that even if some replicas fit well, you don't know if you're going to get the same manufacturer or if you'll be so lucky that yours will also fit.
