Default Quick Oil Question

My car has about 1800 miles on it now and I decided to check the oil just to make sure everything was going well. I checked it and it was a little below the bottom dot. So I put in some 5w-30 to bring it a little over the last dot. Now, my question is, where should my oil level be? Should it be where it is or should it be up to the second dot/hole. Here is a quick sketch.

Top-----------------o-----|-o--- The top is the little orange thing you pull on to get the dipstick out. My oil level is a little above the dot farthest to the right.

Is everything ok or should I take it to the dealer?

I'd say anything near the middle would be fine. If it gets lower than it is quickly then I'd be at the dealer as soon as they open.

I say you're fine right now, but keep it on mind.

I keep my oil to where it fades away right above the top dot, just for reference.

if it gets too low, the car will let you know. Its new, it has a warranty, if its leaking, then let the warranty take care of it.

I have 4100 miles now. Mine was a little low as well. Will be changing to synthetic this weekend. I do not have any oil spots and I leave the car in the garage at night too.

Does anyone use the oil % guage on the car? Mine shows at 30% right now, but I haven't been paying attention to it. I was told when it gets to 15-20% to change the oil. Honestly, I do not trust it. What do you all think about the guage?

I only have 112 miles on mine but as soon as it hits 1000 miles I am doing the first oil change with 0W40 Mobile One. Excellent oil for Summer and winter driving. Been using it in all my cars with excellent result.

Can't wait to see how hard it is to get to the oil filter.

I saw someone recommending the K & N oil filter. What oil filter will you go with? I am still debating whether to go with Honda's or something else.

For you guys measuring a huge oil level drop, how long did the car sit before you measured? Reason I ask is because I measured once in a parking after like 30mins of sitting and it was reading pretty damn low and Im thinking oh im burning a bit of oil already.

A month later its exactly at the top dot, with tons of shifts at redline and general being mean to my car =P

middle to top dot is where the oil level should be. make sure to check your car on level ground and right after the engine has been run up to operating temp. It's not uncommon for you to use oil during the first few thousand miles. I'm on my second oil change and havent burned any oil yet. I did burn a quart my first 1500 miles.
