im not the best with wiring.. can i get some help
ok so yeaa.. b16 swap.. crx dx.. dpfi-->mpfi... i did everything but the wiring.. which is a little messy and hard to trace everything cuz he made all the wires white. so this swap was done in february, the cars been running great.. besides my limp ecu problem. but i think i got that cleared. my only problem is now that the summer heat has hit nj my car starts to over heat, when im driving over 20 its fine/as long as theres air going through the radiator. so its a given that my fan isnt going on, i tested it on the battery and it works fine. i guess its just not wired in right. if i just tap that wire into the one that goes from my ect sensor to the gauge in the dash, would that kick the fan on wen it starts to get hot?
i know that whole paragraph was a little unneccessary. but i was also thinking of getting an si harness. and just modifying that with the vtec/knock/o2 this way it looks somewhat clean compared to my setup now. the si harness fits everything on the b16 right?
and yes i know its been summer for awhile. i just decided to fix it now

the car overheating should be your number one concern. you can do one of two things.
1) hook up the fan to a flip switch inside the car
or
2) just run it off ignition and have it on all the time.
either of those would be better then letting it get that hot... say hello to a warped head if you get stuck in some crazy traffic or drive really hard...
the correct thing to do would be to replace the coolant temp switch on the back of the block under the intake manifold, possibly your thermastat too.
youll know you have the right sensor if it matches up with the wir color found at the fan, i think its yellow with a blue or black stripe. i forget. but its easy enough to see for yourself.

for the overheating problem if your positive its the fan not operating correctly and your coolant level is good, i would first try another relay, if that doesnt work its most likely your CTS.. the ghetto way to do it is to ran the two wires from the fan to a switch so you can turn it on manually
but i would say find the problem then fix it properly..
The harness concern, yes the si harness is plug and play with the b16 but you will still have to do some depinning and rewiring to mate it up to the DX cabin harness.. you will also still have to run the wires for Knock sensor, Vtec solenoid, and your o2 sensor.. so i would say just clean up what you have if its possible
