test pipe install help!!!
hye guys i came on here a while ago asking on how to install a test pipe for a crx si. got some good info and it seemed really easy. well today i tried to install it and while taking off the stock converter, i got the first two bolts off that was connected to the headers but when i got to the three bolts where the exhaust is everything just went wrong. a 14 was just a little bit too big and a 13 was just a little bit too small. i tried and tried to think of ways to take it off but with no luck. so i need help. have any of you had this problem? if so let me know.
no i tried that it's too big and hits the exhaust so thats out of the picture. is there anything inbetween a 13 and 14 that i could use?
maybe one of those gator grip sockets but I just get a dremel on it and shave it down a little to fit the 13mm and then just replace it once its out
Yeah spray some De-Rust chemical on it (apply liberally) and hit it with a socket if your crescent wrench doesnt work... I seriously can not see a situation where you can't use a crescent wrench down there though.

man today i went and looked at it again and the bolts are rusted to **** it even looks like it's part of the screw now. i think i might just try to take it to the muffler shop and see if they're willing to put it on for me. the only thing is it's for off road use only so i dont know.

Or try to use a standard socket to see if that will grab it. If that doesn't work try the above or air chissel the crap out of it...

I just ran into the same problem when installing my new exhaust. What I did was I took my grinder with a cutter wheel and ground off the end nuts that face toward the back of the car. Once they were ground down, I used a punch and hit those suckers out.

for pb thats what i had to use to get mine off when i made my test pipe. Also it makes it a little easier if you drop the exhaust hangers. You can get to it better. Just let the pb soak for a while then respray it and then go for it.
heat em up
even a propane torch can get the rust glowing red. once its red hot , dump ice cold water on them, do this a couple times for each nut. the expansion and immediate contraction from the temp difference will break the rust
