Just give them a good wash with whatever you wash your car with, then use a mild degreaser to get any stubborn spots. Once clean and dry I like to use a product called Klasse All-in-one (AIO) on the wheels they also make a sealant glaze that you could use after that, but I just use Meguiars NXT wax. Don't use a caranuba because it won't last due to the heat generated. To wash I always use simple green...some people freak out about using it on aluminum, but I don't think it's a big deal. I spray it on, scrub with a soft bristle brush and then rinse. Do that to each wheel at least 2x if you want to make sure they are really clean.

Oh....I forgot a step. After the wheels are clean you could clay bar them (anything they sell at the parts store will suffice, I use "Clay Magic" because I think it's the best deal...around $10) Just ball up the clay, spray the lubricant on the wheels and rub it on the wheels. You'll feel the difference. After you have done that on all painted surfaces of the wheel give them a good wash with your car soap and a wash mitt....then proceed to the AIO

yep...online. I found it via Autopia.org. There is a ton of info. about detailing a car. Too much info. can be a bad thing sometimes :D You will find your 'collection' of detailing supplies growing.

After you've cleaned thoroughly with the Klasse AIO (YES, it's a cleaner AND a sealant) Follow up with some PoorBoy's Wheel Sealant. It's designed to stand up to the rough conditions wheels are exposed to. Slap 2 or 3 coats on there (with 24 hrs in between coats) and you'll be AMAZED at how easily they clean up!
