Found this on ebay yesterday, 01 ITR going for $2,995. (Obviously a scam so those of you who dream of an ITR someday, keep dreaming, today's still not the day) Anyone know who's R that is? I emailed the seller and asked him why he's selling a $20,000 car for 3k, but surprise surprise, no reply.

Hopefully someone in MD could mess with this person and see if they can call them out on their scam...

 

I wrote him too. I called him a drain on society. Made me feel better.

But yah, brutal attempt at a scam.

That guy that bidded on the car seems to be a fellow HT member.

Anyways, I emailed the guy just now. I asked to meet up with him. I'm probably an hour or something away from him I think. But we'll see what he says or even reponds.

WTF? If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

 

eBay is pretty good about removing scam listings when it's pointed out to them. However, you need to say something more than just "I know it's a scam because the price is so low". So if you can point out that the car is not located where it is claimed (i.e. some of the scammers claim that the car is overseas so they can con you into wiring money overseas where it is difficult to impossible to recover or prosecute), then they will remove the listing...

 

These people are the scum of society. They need to be hunted and shot.

I saw this earlier today, almost bid till I realized it was a scam.

 

so the question is 'is it a scam'?
Ebay has buyer protection up to 20k on the deal, he will take cash.
I think I might bid, win it, show up with 8 guys and cash, and a cop friend and pick it up...

 

did anyone run a carfax report on it to see where its located/ what its been through ?

that was me that bid on it, i knew it was a scam this f@*ker try to scam me once before so i bid and bullsh*t to him that i wire him the money already and had him going to 3 different locations thinkin his money is there ha ha than i reported his punk *** to ebay and they took it off

i got him good i called him and made up some fake western union # so he drove out there gave them the # found out it was wrong, call me up and say he already ship the car, where's his money? i told him that i had to cancel it and use money gram instead, so he drove out to a money gram location than i told him now its ready at western union after he got back there he stop callin and now his # is not working, i had fun messin with him

hahahahahahahahaha, you should have posted his number here so we alllll could have had some fun with him...its to bad his fake number got disconnected. Im glad u had the p.o.s running around looking for money that wasnt there.
