Default DA as a first car?

Hey everyone, I've been saving up for my first car for quite some time now and I'm almost ready to get one. I've been trying to decide between which car I should get: an EF hatch, a DA integra, or an XJ Jeep. They each seem to have their own pro's/con's, but the Integra seems like a pretty good choice overall. I'm looking for something that is reliable, sporty, and at least somewhat fast. What would your recommendation be?

My DA was my first car. I love it. You should go for the DA.

However, if you go in the EF forum, im sure the replies will be the opposite.

Get a DA, you'll be happy with the choice.

a DA is a good first car, I had I had one for my first car

it has a good platform to begin modification, it comes with some good standard features the EF doesnt offer, disc brakes, MPFI, b-series motor, good suspension platform

they are an overall good car to learn with

i'm sure you already know this but, do remember to check for rust, especially the rear quarter and rockers, its very prevelent on DAs depending on where the car was from

I think the da would be the best bang for the buck, lotsa standard features. Plus their pretty easy to modify, and damn sexy when when their setup is clean and simple.

Thanks guys, sounds like it's pretty clearcut then. There's a nice one for sale around here, 1990 LS 2dr 5spd with 144k miles and new engine at 110k for only $1750.

I've got around a $2000 budget. I'm trying to find one that's stock or as close to stock as possible.

How's the 5th gear cruising? I know in my friend's EF with a b16 tranny, he's holding 4k to go 60-65mph.

Alright that should be it'll be at or under 3000 to hold highway speed. If I get one I'm planning on spending no more than $500 on mods at first, what is the best way to gain the most horsepower/speed for only $500?

i cant agree more with everyone. My 92 LS was my 2nd car that I owened and i have had it for almost a year and a half no major problems just regular matinence and the car has been solid!!!! I'd like to sell it because i got a good deal on it and could make some money off of it but honestly I don't know if i can. Some people probably know what im talking about!

the best thing you can have is calipers instead of drums so integra's all the way DA was my first car to but went and got a dc2 and still love them both...DA belongs to my older bro now so yea very reliable....and you'll love the dash more than the EF

as ya probably already know that everyone has said as far as i can see is the DA. I had one it got jacked then I had a CL and turned it in for another DA. I love the DA it is a sick car. I/h/e for your first set of mods, after that u will only want to put more in to engine.
