i got a 98 civic ex,is time to replace my timming belt.for those who have done it,is it a hard job to tackle yourself?what should i replace along with the belt and what should i watch out for?
i have done this before just not on this car.where can i find how-to on replacing the belt?thanks

 

Its not hard just time consuming. I always replace the water pump with the belt. There are lots of writeups on this.

 

Timing belts are very time consuming and very easy to mess up if you never did one before. I recommend doing one outside the car before you do one inside the car.

Things i would replace along with the belt:

Water Pump
Tensioner and spring
Alt/PS/AC belts

 

hell while your in there, might as well change your oil seals. Easy as hell once everything is off, and who knows when you'll be in there again.

 

Very time consuming, not too hard if you have the right tools. You'll need to support the engine so if you can't do that I wouldn't try it.
