Default Tracking the Fit !

Hi all,

I think I might be the first the only one who has brought the Fit to the track to do some serious lapping :D I was well prepared so suspension and brakes were ready or this event held by Definitive Driving club

My impressions : The car handles extremely well , I can out brake a lot of faster cars before turning in. I also notice that the Fit can carrya lot of cornering speed so I have been trail braking in to turns in order to keep the car at higher speed so that i can have faster exiting speed since the car is awfully SLOW (bone stock engine) with a J's Racing axle-back muffler only.

Here are the Foot work that I have done to the Fit :
<FONT COLOR="blue">T1R B-max coil-overs (front 6k rear 6k)</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">J's Racing Strut bar (front and rear)</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">J's Racing C-pillar bar</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#0000ff">J's Racing Monocoque bar</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">J's Racing Roll center adjuster (I will have a write up for them later)</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">Spoon 4 piston calipers</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">J's Racing N1 500 brake pads</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">AJR custom rotors</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="#0000ff">MOTUL RBF600 brake fluid</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">ADVAN RG2 wheels 17x7.5</FONT>
<FONT COLOR="blue">Falken RT615 tires</FONT>

Here are some pics that I have been struggling with some faster cars

-I am not any faster then any of these S2000s but they just let me pass because I was pressuring them thru turns

You can find more pics at www.definitivedriving.com

Enjoy

Good looking Fit.

It's nice to see all those parts out already. I'd hope you'd be able to out break some of those cars. You've got a nice setup there.

Nice Fit and pictures

Not to be an ***, but with all of the money you spent on parts couldn't you have bought something that handles better and is much faster right out of the box?

Just wondering because the parts lists sounds pretty expensive.

Edit: Is this like a promo car for AJ Racing ? If so, don't answer my question

That's because your speed entering the braking zone is probably waaaaaaaaayyyyy down that of a competent driver in something else... Good to see someone looking to drive fast on something other than a highway at 1am.

I'm debating about taking my car to Streets of Willow on Aug. 11th for a private track day with some friends....After seeing this thread and the Vid on FitFreak of the AJR Fit at the track I just might go ahead and make the leap!

I think you should go. The Fit is such a fun car to drive at the track even it is lack of power but the cornering speed is iresistable

Too bad that wasn't me driving in the video That made me look so slow

You might wnat to try 15's wheels with 55 series tires to improve acceleration. i dont think you'd be reaching top speed before the next turn while tracking the car.

I have tried 15s already and I didn't notice any change in acceleration. I guess lightweight 17 with same rolling diameter will just work the same. Also with a lower profile tire, the side wall will roll less, imo.

I'd love to be able to track the 4wd version of the Fit that they have in Japan, with a Turbo B18C or K20A in there.

That would be such a surprise packet!

heh

But yeah, loving the photos. On a couple of BMI's Tatsuru Ichishima has talked about how the Fit has good weight distribution, the fuel tank is located in the middle, and has a nice solid monocoque body.

Ichishima-san says that the Fit is a perfect budget racer for club days, etc. And after hearing you talk about quick corner entry, etc, I can't wait to have one in my garage next to my Integra GSR next year
