Is the Type-S worth it??
Besides the extra gear and a little more power, whats the difference Between the type s and the regular model. Is the type S worth it? And is is easy to get the base model to type S proformance??
if your into racing and all that id say deff get a type s. i have a base and while i love it...its slow. the type s is about a second or so faster in the 1/4 and has a better suspension.
the base model rsx is ******* garbage!!!!!! it comes with the shitty K20 in it makes like 160 horsepower in a 2800lb car. no 6 speed, doesnt have the nice bose 6 disc system in it, and yeah
if you want to invest your money good just go the extra 3 g's and buy the Type-S. it ******* rips compared to the base model. 200hp at the flywheel . good gearbox. nice stereo, etc.
just my opinion

umm i wouldnt call the base model garbage
i know a few base models that would rip you a new one. trust me invest the 3Gs you save into a base 5spd and you will beat a type s hands down. but the type s is a better place to start modding. i say get the type s but dont rag on the base.

The Type S is very worth it. I currently own a 06 Type S.
Stock, it's very fun to drive. Add a reflash and an intake and you got an awesome car thats fun to drive with a bit of power.

I thought the base and the type s used the same engine on the 06? The type s is only tunned in a way to add the extra hp.
I don't know if I'm allowed to post links here, but here is a wiki with info on the rsx series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_RSX

honestly their both great cars and wish to hopefully soon own a type s dc5 but the difference is the engine, suspension, luxury, and gearing. the engine of the base dc5 is it has the k20 motor of the ep3 same exact motor and the type s dc5 has a more powerfull motor. the gearing of the base dc5 is short 1 but still not bad. suspension on the dc5 s is stronger and better. the luxury of the type s is better and has better sound to it. truthfully their both not bad but type is is worth it.

What about wiring and security? does the base model have the same fuel system as the type s? Is the wiring the same? does the base model have the chipped key inorder to start the car?
IDK anything about anything, but could the money that you would spend on a Type-S which is a $3-5K difference between a base model could be spent on things like coilovers, aero parts, wheels, performance parts? And I know alot of S's probably got railed on at some point or another? Again, IDKAAA.

Got my 06 for 22,300 with a few options like fogs and clear bra... And the type-s is better in every way. Rims, motor, interior, stereo...etc.. I love mine. Reflash coming soon
