Default too much work...?

alright heres my dilema.

i bought a '97 gsr like 6 months ago and love it. it is a pretty quick car and because of this i landed myself a pretty hefty speeding ticket; not i cannot afford to insure the thing so it sits in my driveway.

i recently picked up a '98 ex civic coupe/ auto/ 112k/ runs flawlessly with minamal cosmetic damage, and NO motor problems whatsoever. i got it for a $1000 from my mom because she wanted to finish paying it off so she could buy a new truck.

is it going to be a royal pain in the butt to do the auto to manual swap? i've never done one, but have a decent understanding of whats needed and what has to be done to do it, and it looks like a headache.

should i sell/trade the civic for something manual or should i just give this a shot? if i do sell/trade the civic i wanna either get $3600obo (its in mint condition) ot trade for a del sol or a civic hatch.

all opinions/ offers welcome

well, im totally not trying to sound like an ***, but have you learned your lesson? The reason I ask this is because if you decide to switch to manual, or get a hatch and swap or whatever your plans are, you are going to want to go fast again. On the other hand, you keep that auto, while it may be boring to drive, it will definately keep you out of trouble. I guess it all depends on your self control and if after that its worth it.

Me, i'd get an older model hatch to keep your insurance low and work your way from there.

yeah i learned my lesson, and the ticket i got was dropped because the state cop didnt end up showing at the court hearing, but the teg is already uninsured.

well then, i'd say sell the GSR, pimp the coupe for a while till you stack some paper, then make your move from there. Don't rush into anything since you have a car to atleast drive for now. Wait for a good deal to come by and jump on it. Go with something pre-95, should keep insurance low, then swap it.
