In a 1st gen it is going to cost a bit. It also depends on whether it is carbed or not. It will not be a cheap swap.

I would look for a 2nd gen.

if it's in good shape, buy it. It's a hella old car, so if it's in bad shape, it will simply add to it's already ugly look. 2nd gens are sexy. 1st gens are umm..not.

it all comes down to if it is carbed or injected
if it is carbed then DO NOT get it...it will cost a ton to change it over, parts cost alot, and it has 0 resell value...
now if its injected, sure go ahead you can always do a little motor swap and have a good driving car with alittle money.
if you dont know if its carbed or not...if its not SI then its carburated
