Default FLASHING OIL LIGHT QUESTION

I just finished up my project DA. I drove it for about 20 miles and it drove fine. The only thing is when I would down shift and the rpm's would dip below 1000 the oil light would begin to flash. The car wouldnt get hot or drive any different. I would then pullover, shut off the car, start it up and all would be fine.

I know you're gonna ask me what I did to the engine. I didnt do anything internally. Just a new valve cover gasket, header gasket and intake manifold gasket.

The other thing that I thing you should know is I was running it open header. (its only for 1 day while I wait for the exhaust to be bent). I was wondering if maybe the lack of back pressure had anything to do w/ it.

there is a good possibility that the oil pressure sensor could be clogged...ive seen this happen on swaps a lot...unthread it...blow it out with pressurized air....(might be gunked up) and try again

hit up G2IC.com. Most of the time it's a faulty sensor on the block. It's cheap...replace it. SOMETIMES it's the little bastard computer behind the fuse panel in the driver kick. I can't remember what it's called, but they are known to go out and cause little problems like that. Basically, it's a solder joint issue...

Ive been reading over H-T and G2IC and so far the most logical answer seems to be the oil pressure sensor

sure thing man....that little computer that I still can't remember the name of...is the culprit to alot of little issues with those cars. It's a good idea to replace it as well as the main fuel relay under the steering column now. Simply preventive maintenance....
