Default FLASHING OIL LIGHT QUESTION

I just finished up my project DA. I drove it for about 20 miles and it drove fine. The only thing is when I would down shift and the rpm's would dip below 1000 the oil light would begin to flash. The car wouldnt get hot or drive any different. I would then pullover, shut off the car, start it up and all would be fine.

I know you're gonna ask me what I did to the engine. I didnt do anything internally. Just a new valve cover gasket, header gasket and intake manifold gasket.

The other thing that I thing you should know is I was running it open header. (its only for 1 day while I wait for the exhaust to be bent). I was wondering if maybe the lack of back pressure had anything to do w/ it.

Thanks in advance

it does sound like lack of pressure. maybe your oil pump is going bad? when have you did an oil change? maybe not enough oil was put in. if you haven't changed it then change the oil, add exactly what you need and see if it still does (make sure oil filter is on hand tight).

Ive been reading over H-T and G2IC and so far the most logical answer seems to be the oil pressure sensor
