Default 05 tranny on an 02? will this work

Alright, so my buddy with an 02 type-s just put k-pro on and has finally got it tuned.. then boom, all hell breaks loose. he's only got 2,5,6,R in his car right now. He's found an 05 tranny, but wants to know if it will work on his 02 engine. The Acura dealership and other mechanics are giving him the run around and I'm hoping that someone on here can help. I didn't know if the K-series were like the B's in their compadablity with each other. thanks

will work but speed sensor will not (directly) find out if k-pro he has - has function to switch VSS signal or get a black box from bigcalidave see this thread for more info (s2k has same signal as 05+ VSS)

the tranny mount may be different - not 100% sure... I know for swap egs/eks no different mounts are needed
