Default Roll Cage Question: Used Kirk Racing 6 point cage

Hey guys,

I've been getting a lot of mixed answers with different people on to whether or not this cage is junk, can be re-used, or the main hoop can only be salvaged..

I bought this cage used off a local guy I autoX with. I always knew the Kirk Racing roll cages were "bolt in" type cages. But when I finally met up with him and got the cage, after further research of reading the NASA and SCCA rule books, calling Kirk Racing, trying to call a few instructors and telling them the situation, I haven't been able to get a firm answer since, of course, they can't see the cage physically.

My question, is this cage able to be re-used? And if so will it comply with NASA and SCCA standards? I mainly auto cross locally here with several clubs, haven't begun HPDE yet, but will in the near future.

Experienced opinions are GREATELY appreciated.

Here are some pictures:

I apologize in advance for the poorly positioned pictures. I tried taking pictures while positioning the cage -- didn't work out too well

Thanks much!

no way man, that thing is done. even if they did allow you to run it (slim chance in hell) all those rewelded tubes would cause a MAJOR safety hazard.

there would be no problem if you were to weld this cage into your car.

So, instead of unbolting it, he hacked it up and sold it to you?
