Hi there,

My mecano/friend repaired my head (a valve messed up) in my head and we did a full tune up at the same time and he put normal 10w/30 engine oil in my tranny which I found odd but was told by 2-3 guys it was fine.

Its now been a month and my first/second gears are starting to rattle at low rpm and so does the 5th sometimes when rolling. When not in gear it rattles a little and when I clutch it completely stops.

I bought 2 paints of genuine honda transmission oil and will change it but Im wondering how extensive the damage can be. Before that my tranny was flawless and Im now wondering how much labor it costs the rebuild a tranny. Im also thinking about getting a TypeR tranny if I get a good deal.

Lemme know what you all think, any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Does it vibrate or make noise?

It doesn't vibrate as far as I can tell but it does make a rattling noise when starting on the first gear and when I gear the 2nd one (when I push the gas after its geared).

Its as if it took 2 years of age in a month!

Using that weight oil in your tranny for a month will not cause internal damage unless the parts were worn to begin with. I would recommend you IM Bense. He seems to be the tranny expert on this site

normal 10w-30 is fine to use I can't think of what happened. try cahging the fluid out with honda MTF. Also, don't b-series require 2.5 qts? i'm not sure
