i had the same problem couple of moneth ago it was the dist. cap . but you said that your ecu doesnt flash when you turn the key .
do you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key if not you might also have a problem with the main relay , it gives power to ecu then the fuel pump .
changing the rotor wont help if the little tabs on the inside of the cap are worn or corroded so check that out . a new cap is like 10 bucks

I don't know what a distributor chip is...it'll help us help you if you figure out what you've actually done.
So if you're working with a known good distributor, cap and rotor...
That's actually a real good place to start on a no start issue. The igniter tends to go bad.
Next thing to check is the Main Relay. Here's a good run down:

Those are the two most common culprits and doing them first is really just a shortcut. If neither helps, you should do the standard no start diagnostic. Check for:
air - easiest...is the intake tract clear?
fuel - is the fuel pump priming? Is there fuel pressure at the fuel rail?
spark - pull a spark plug wire, test for spark
timing - check the cam timing to verify everything is sync'd.
Here's a good read on Honda no starts:

Oh, and get a frickin' manual. Helms, Chilton, Haynes...in that preferential order.

okay this was the condition of my car and how it died my fan never worked but my friend who owned an integra had the same problem and he took it out and all he did was just replace the thermostat so i bought a new themerostat installed it and i drove it for a few hours until the car died. i was at a stop night and i accelerated and it just died on first gear and has been dead since then. my buddy came over and pulled the spark wires out to test for sparking and theres no sparking and the distributor rotor i installed was a zc kind and my friend told me it wont work cuz the zc is a obd0 and i have a b18a1 so iono cant be the rotor i dont think. and to be honest i dont know what fuel pump prime is. and when i turn my key i dont really hear anyting comming from the fuel, im gonna ask my friend about it later and hopefully he'll know and is there a way to check if i have fuel pressure? that i'll ask from my friend and hopefully he'll know. and a new fuel pump relay im just gonna get a new one and hopefully that'll be the problem
the fuel pump priming sounds like a whirring noise when you turn the key to the on position (right before you turn it farther to crank the engine) you will here a 2 clicks from right by the hood release handle. they will be 3 seconds apart. it sounds like you may have replaced your ignition control module (ignitor, looks like a flat rectangle, located at the bottom of the distributor) you could replace your distributor with another or try switching the ignition coil out.
suprised no one else asked this but what model is your crx, did you already have MPFI or did you have to convert from Dual Point? you said it would die when it got hot and then let it cool down and it'd start? i'd look at your Ignition coil in the dizzy, its common on hondas for this sort of thing to happen when they are going bad.
k i bought spark plugs for my car recently gonna install that on a nice day. but anyway my car is a 1988 crx MPFI. my car only dies when its hot and when its cooled back down it start right back up, this only happens when i race my car. but as of now the car is competly dead. i should get a new distributor cap. and i was wondering if the crx zc ignition control module will fit into a b18a distributor??? cuz thats what i did and it fits and everything but wont start still. if anything im willing to buy a new ignition control module for an integra distributor and my main fuel pump relay anything to get my car up and running. im taking notes by the way so yeah.
k so i bought a new distributor cap. definitely not $10 but the new one did make the original look like **** obviously but still no start honda stores been closed and works taking over my life im sure one cares but anyway i found one of the ecu plugs werent plugged in so i plugged it back in still no start but yeah im gonna get a new relay tomorow and see how that goes. also i was wondering if it could be a seized motor? i dont really wanan think that but how would a seized motor act?
K i got the fuel pump relay now my car needs a jump start cuz iv been crankin my car way to much i think fukin ghey anyway fuses are good and been good one of the few thigns i checked with car died yeah i'll get back to everybody tomorrow after the jumpstart *** i hope this is it...
