i need your guys' input. in 2nd or 3rd wen im at 3k n let the rpm drop, there is a squaking noise sounds like its coming from the drivers front wheel area. it sounds like its going around as the wheel turns because as i slow down, so does the squaking. also on the freeway or at high speeds, the car tends to shake a little, im prety sure its from the same thing. im thinking its an axle or a wheel bearing, have any of you had this problem or know what is wrong with it? thanks.

 

My LS was doing something very similar, ended up being the bearing. Not saying that is what your is, but it sounds like a similar problem.

I was getting my brakes/rotors done anyway, so I had them throw in a new bearing as well.

 

ok thanks ill get it checked out. do you know how much a new bearing will cost?

 

I think it was around $95 for the new parts, then add what ever labor will be. I think my shop charged for an hour.

so i took it into the shop and they told me what was wrong with it, both front axles were torn and ripped so i am getting them replaced. for future, does lowering the car extremely put stress on the axles and tend them rip/tear easier or was it somtething else?
