Default My next mod from here.... ???

Hi all! This is my first post to the forum. I hope I can get the help I need. I have two civics, one of which I've been working on for a while now. This will be mainly a show car, however I have the engine slightly moded and would like to take it just a bit further.

More information about the car:

Model
94 Civic EX

Engine
D16Z6 1.6L V-Tec

Mods
Ram air intake
header
exhaust
stage 2 clutch

The nitty gritty....

What would be the best mod to do from this point? I don't want to race this car just give it a little more umph if you know what I mean. I was thinking of switching to the cold air intake as aposed to the ram air. I noticed when the car is cold (first start of the day) the air it is sucking in is much cooler and makes the car perform better at low rpms. I was also thinking of putting in a lighter flywheel, I notice a bit of a problem when shifting from 1st to 2nd at high rpms, would a lighter flywheel take care of this? After that where do I go? Cams? cam gears? injectors? just not sure what. I know quite a bit about body work but hardly nothing of engine work.

All help is greatly appreciated!

LMAO.

Just turbo it. 6-7psi and get it tuned. Afterall, singles are a dime a dozen. Or just swap it for a big boy.

the only way you'll get any noticable power is a swap or turbo.. Any money you dump into for basic bolts ons is pretty much a waste

yea suspension has also been modified with nuspeed springs (total of 2 1/4" drop) I also plan on adding air ride because I can't even go over a speedbump after having added the body kit.

The thing is, You'll be spending ALOT of money on parts that are gonna give you pretty much no gain. Your best bet is to get out of that d-series into a b or turbo it.. You can peice together a kit pretty cheap

Either way good luck with your gaol

Understood.... however doing these things will give me the 20 to 40 horses I'm looking for and I'm sure will all together be cheaping than doing something like a turbo...

Again I already have another civic with a Prelude H22a inside that I am modding out and stripping down for the race track. This civic with the D16 I have spent waaayyy too much time on the body work to be worried about making it race worthy. I just want a little more go on the green light.

if your looking for a cheap way to get 20-40hp then nitrous is the way to go.

Cheapest way.

To get 20-40hp out of a Z6, you will be spending the same amount if you were to get a swap.
