Default Just Dyno'd my gsr eg

I went to Garage Kwai up in Arlington Heights, IL to get my car tuned by Benson.

Motor- 95 Gsr with roughly 100-105K miles on it.
- Ebay brand short ram intake
- Stock exhaust manifold
- Stock intake manifold
- Stock gsr cat
- Rsr Silver exhaust (discontinued)
- AEM fuel rail and regulator
- Stock P72 ecu piggy back hacked with VAFC 2

Baseline run pull was around 147 whp and 110 Tq

After few pulls and tuning power went up to around 155 hp. Then tuned it again and let it cool down for about 15 minutes. On the last run after cool down Benson pulled 160 whp and 123.1 tq on my motor.

Dyno sheet

Comments and advice welcome.

Nice numbers.
Not to thread jack too much but,

I was tuned quite a few time by Benson...

And I think he does great work regardless of what some people may think of Kwai... it's always a fun experience... plus One6 is right there so it's like killing two birds with one stone. Hope you had fun!

Yea Benson is a very knowledgeable person with cars. I've been going to there for awhile now and always found them helpful. Benson and Kwai gets a thumbs up from me anytime. Yea getting it tuned was fun kinda scary though with the thought of the motor kinda blowing up in the back of my head. lol

Sorta OT for me too, is this the same Dan Benson that does block sleeving? Could I get a bit more info on that shop?

12.5:1 is more for boost (11.5-12.5). With a motor designed with a little knock-suppression in it can run a bit leaner. You basicly want it a bit rich to make up for slight irregularities between each injector, 'lean' pockets, and slight flow differences between cylinders.

This is a different Benson. He owns the shop Garage Kwai in Arlington Heights, IL. I heard he worked for either Honda or Acura for awhile as a master mechanic or something before opening the shop. If you want more info just hit them up here is their number 8472596960

Doesn't the untuned run of 147 whp seem low? I remeber reading a magezine a few years ago I think it was honda tuning, where they took a stock B16a2 and a stock D16 motor and dynoed them stock and then dynoed them after in stalling a header, cat-back, and cai just to show the hp increase, well I remeber the b16a2 dynoed stock at 142 whp. Is it because they could have been different dynos? Cuz i would think the gsr would have more then a 5 hp advantage!!!

My b18c1 motor is from 1995 and with more than 100k miles on it. B16a2 came out what year like 1999 I believe. Wait untill that motor has 11 years on it and see its whp i believe it will not put out 142 whp. My motor is untouched no valve adjustment, on it since it came out in 1995 just basically new water pump, timing belt basically.

My future plans are hopefully getting it blueprinted and rebuilt. Then planning on boosting it. I just want a 12 second hatch to have fun with at the tracks.

I think they charge 140-150 per hour on wideband dyno tune. Probably the best 140 i spent to get 13 whp out of the motor.

my engine is a 99 b16a2 w/ 166k on the clock. i dyno'd at 147 w/ just an off brand SRI and Greddy exhaust. all original internals. i don't even know if it had its reg. maintenence. i got it at 124k and did a big tune up around 130-140k.

but the reason i'd say was b/c that first dyno pull it was untuned. it obviously made a big jump the next time when it was tuned.
