Default ITR Trans opinion ques....

From all you type-r owners, I would like to know what you think about this. I'm in the process of buying an ITR trans to replace my shot to crap cable S1 on a soon to be B20-Vtec set up in my DA6. (Bear with me, I'm going to word this as good as I possibly can) Whats the crossover point running say a 225/50R15 BFG g-force t/a KDs (sticky as hell) when the horsepower is too much for the low gearing of the ITR trans? like obviously 500 horses on an ITR trans is gonna be insane and like losing traction in 3rd and 4th, and i still want to do some auto-x, so I'm thinking like 250-275 should still provide a reasonable amount of grip and still a decent amount of get up and go. Any opinions? Thanks

bottom line: you want the most agressive gearing you can live with.....

Are you intending to drag race at all?

fwiw, many of us here (myself included) have the itr tranny with a more agressive aftermarket 4.9 final drive. And I'm at ~300whp!

i love the 4.785 fd in my jdm itr trans. it is great on a road course.

more hp just means you'll be shifting faster and more frequently.
