Why does my 99 SI radio give me "E" codes and won't play CD's?
Everytime I try to play a CD in my 99 SI stock cd player I get an "E" code and the CD pops right back out. I disconnected the negative and reset the code but that did nothing for it. I take it the "E" has to mean Error, but that's where I need one of you guys that have experienced this to let me know what the fix is. The "E" code would only come on every once in a while, but I could still play a CD from time to time. Now it ALWAYS says "E" and no CD's will play. The radio and clock work however.
Any suggestions?

it means its broke. you can send it here http://www.unitedradio.com, or your dealer can pull it and send it their. oh and alot of those cleaning discs will actually beat the lense on the laser out of alignment, as it is held in place by 4 wires thinner than hair and it floats between 2 magnets. just get it fixed or replace it with aftermarket, which by the way I promise will be louder and sound cleaner, it just wont light up amber unless your look real hard for one that does.
