Default Brake Lights Out

My brake lights cut in and out. One day they'll work the next they wont. Considering I'm a complete novice to the electrical field I was wondering If anyone can give me their two cents. Anything at all is appreciated.

check the grounds at the lights themselves as well ..... make sure they are not corroded.

Check under your dash on your brake light switch ( just changed mine, the rubber part on the back broke so the lights stayed on ) I would check that first, then go for the wiring after that.
