Default Running on 3 Cylinders, still no conclusion

Just swapped in a jdm h22a last weekend, it has a new dizzy, cap, rotor, msd wires, ngk plugs, pcv valve, good compression on all 4 cylinders, but my #1 isn't running. The plugs are getting spark, I can hear the injector working, so it may be an air issue. My car is missing an Intake Control Silenoid Valve, and is missing the module that runs the flapper diaphram (which shouldn't effect anything right?) The engine doesn't idle very well and sometimes dies. I'm almost tempted to see if a rag got sucked into the #1 intake plenum when the shop hooked it up, that's how confuzed I am.

They're new wires and plugs and are getting spark. When I took the new plugs out I noted that they were blackened, is that from lack of fuel?

You can get good comp. and leak specs, but the valvetrain could still be at fault. Open the head and check for broken rocker arms on #1.

edit: about yor spark plugs, when they're fouled like that, your air/fuel mixture is too rich.

clogged injector? try switching around the injectors. if a different cylinder doesn't fire, you know that injector isn't working.

I tested the injectors yesterday by unplugging them while the engine was running. Cylinder #1 was uneffected when I unplugged the injector, the idle changed for the rest of the cylinders when they were unplugged. So I replaced the stock injector for a 240cc from my H23 but it didn't change a thing, maybe the test injector was clogged, or my wiring is bad. I also checked my rockers and saw nothing unusual.

would a bad MAP sensor or IACV cause the engine to misfire like this? This is serious I really need to fix this thing, I get bad gas milage but more importantly I can't enjoy my VTEC like I want to.

It was a bad ECU and it didn't flash a CEL 1 or anything, no wonder I was so confused, it runs perfect now with the new P13.

lol, f*cking ECU.

Out of everything that could break on a car, you never expect the digital aspects like an ECU to fail

Glad you found the problem and I'm sure you're enjoying your ride a lot more now!
