Engine not grounded, test light indicates engine is energized not grounded?
Ok here is the problem with a civic I am working on. It is a b16a swap in a 92 civic. The problem is the car will not crnak nor even try to crank I get no fuel pump to turn on and the main relay is good. I have been using a test light to diagnose the problem. When I attach the test light lead to the negative side of the battery and then stick the probe end on the engine the test light illuminates. This leads me to believe the engine is not grounded and all of the stock grounds are on and clean. The engine is basically energized, when it should be grounded. I have found the source of the energy, it is coming from the main ground on the thermostat housing. When I pull that ground off of the thermostat housing the test light goes off, and when i touch the probe to the main ground it lights back up again. Weird!! I cannot figure out where or how this ground became energized, all stock stuff, never even modified the harness...Any one have any insight to what is going on? Thanx.
