Default k20 swap???

I have a 96 Integra Gsr. I am in a bad/good situation. My alternator belt and some other belt snaped and got tangled up and somehow through the timing on my timing belt. I got the belt replaced and it still doesnt run. My mechanic isn't sure what is wrong, but he said I may have messed something with the internals up. I am looking at getting a new engine. Would a k20 be good for a gs-r? I have a friend who has a rsx which is how I got the idea. I found one with 25,000 miles on it for $2300. motor, 6-speed tranny, ecu, and wiring harness. Is that a pretty good deal??? Or should I just try to fix the gsr. I am looking at close to 800 dollars right now to fix the gsr.... Any help is appreciated..

youll need a lot more than just the motor, ecu and tranny to get that k20 to work. youll need axels, and hasport mounts and a lot of other things. Its going to be quite a bit more than 2300 to get the rsx engine up and running in your integra, id suggest just rebuilding your engine.

usually the most youll spend to get it running in your car if you do the work is around 3000$
and you found it for pretty damn cheap! i say do it. your total cant be more than 5500$ thats still pretty damn good and youll have a very fast integra. just search.

though its a great engine.. it is probably too much for you to handle right now.... you sound really new to cars.

you will need at least $4-$5k more to finish the K swap after you buy the motor.

Yeah, K motors are nice, but thats a hard swap to pull. Like stated above, its more than just the motor and plopping it in the car. Find out whats wrong w/ the car, and just fix it.

Sides, K's only look good in EK hatch's, I think.
