timing belt broke
Should I even bother fixing it heard its kinda annoying and I was probably gonna get a shop to do it. I was thinking about a swap anyway so which would be cheaper..the water pump got messed up to
Depends on how much damage was done, if there's a lot of damage and your valves are bent then you'll need a head job. Also keep in mind you will also need the head milled to put the new headgasket on, new coolant, new oil/filter, new timing belt kit, new gasket kit, and shop time to store your car while the machine shop has your head. I got lucky and none of my valves were bent, didn't need a head job, just milled the head, bought all the parts I needed, did all the work myself and it still cost me $400-600. If you're looking at a new valvetrain and having a shop doing it, I'm guessing it would be cheaper to go with a swap. I think the book time for a head gasket alone is 7 hours, so $65 an hour+machine work = not cheap.
i did mine myself for the first time about 3 years ago. belt snapped but i was lucky also and it didnt expletive up my head. i bought a new belt and hasnt messed up since
i dont think anything from head cause i turned my car on it was on for like 5 seconds then just stopped. it was marking my battery so i was like huh? then today my dad said it snapped so i dunno i think a swap would be better

if it's a DX motor it probably didn't bend any valves. I'm pretty sure it's a non-interference engine. The VTEC motor (z6) will usually bend valves when the belt breaks.
probably a t-belt and water pump would get you back on the road. HOWEVER, if you have the money for an engine swap, now as good a time as ever to do one.

then how are you going to get the lower timing cover off?

Did you physically take apart the engine and check? The only reason I ask is because we have interference motors and if the timing belt breaks, 99% of the time you will need a head job. Depending on how healthy your motor is if you're looking for an opportunity to do an engine swap now would be as good a time as any, but if you're engine isn't damaged you could buy a timing belt kit for like $100 and just put it on and be good for a while, good luck.
