JIC Coilover owners on 5th Gen ludes ?
Anyone own these ? I know their pricey but are they worth the money ? Im looking into a nice set of coilovers and i dont want to be spending $1600-1700 for the JIC name when i can be getting something just a good for less money. But if they live up to their name and perform well i would have no problem spending the cash.
reliability is poor, customer service is poor, performance is worse than revalved Konis w/custom rate Ground Controls.
I guess you could say that it all adds up to NOT WORTH IT
the only JDM coilover worth a damn is probably Endless/Zeal. JIC doesn't have a great reputation for quality really, it's just that the JDM bling factor has become important in the past few years so their popularity has increased.

spoke with three JIC owners (all Preludes) who all talked me out of buying them (A1s or A2s) for the above reasons
I was ready to drop the cash on A1s and I'm glad I didn't. I also talked with one A2 owner online who felt that they were ok but not anything amazing performance-wise and overpriced considering what you get.

I own a set of their crapass flagship Flta2's for two years now. Stay the f**k away from them. Absolute ******* garbage! My rides a 99 Sh. The rear shocks rattle like a **** from day one! And no it's not the pillowball mounts! Sent rear shocks back and they returned them saying nothing was wrong with them. And when I asked for full refund or replace them "Ben" from JIC wouldn't even return my emails. The speed shop I bought them from sided with JIC and even made me pay for the shipping saying i wasted their time. So I never gave either of them anymore business..period. Do a search, horrid customer service. I found many other car forums with the exact same tactics they played on me. Particularly nissan and lexus forums. Total denial of any defects and I even read where a JIC rep blamed the Lexus spot welds for the noise! I used a device called Chassis ears(From Snap on) to trace the problem. Btw it wasn't Installer error, I'm a lead technician at an Acura dealer with 16 yrs experience. Ive taken them apart a billion times trying to eliminate the rattle, eg: siliconing pillow ball, rubber tubes, sleaves, grease etc It's in the valving. They don't deserve your money/time or anybody else's for that matter! Period. Phew...think I'll stop my rant

honestly the whole "true coilover" setup is a gimmick.
if you don't want konis and GC's, then get a set of zeals.
what is it that you're looking for in this suspension setup?

im not worried at all about ride quality. I would sacrifice performance over ride comfort anyday. The car is not a daily and will be used mostly for drag racing and auto x.

i'd look into a set of koni 3011's then. they're valved to handle a lot of diff spring rates--from 600 lbs to 1500 lbs. double adjustable, and custom built. pm crx lee and ask him whether they'd be appropriate.
for a/x (and drag) you're gonna want some flexibility (stiff rear springs for a/x, even stiffer for drag) w/ the spring rates you're able to run. i'd look into starting somewhere in the 450/600 range and start getting stiffer if you need to.
