Default DAMN INTERMEDIATE SHAFT!!!

Quick run down:

-Bought crx with no motor.
-Car previously had b17a
-Car came with axles, mounts, linkage, and a lot of custom wiring
-Purchased b16a w S1 trans
-Purchased "b16" intermediate shaft

The problem I am having is that the drivers side axle is too long and is binding. It goes in (barely) but it is causing problems when the wheel rotates. I'm using the axles that the last owner used with the b17.

What axel/intermediate shaft combination do I have? What combination do I need?

Thanks.

It sounds like you have the B16 sir1 intermediate shaft with the 90-93 integra axles.....What you need is the 90-93 integra intermediate shaft ,,or have a custom driverside axle made,,which consists of a 88 integra axle with 90-93 inner joint...

OR maybe you just have the wrong axle on the wrong side...?

Yea, I tried switching them to make sure, but they only go one way. Now its a question of what would be quicker for me to obtain? None of the junkyards around here have the intermediate shaft.

Well, thanks for the QUICK answer! I'll post when I get it straightened out.

Run the 90-93 teg int. shaft and axle. Make sure to remove dust rings on axle and hub. BTW make sure that you have the 5 speed int. shaft and dont get stuck with the auto int. shaft, it doesnt fit unless you like to do some major grinding.

when you swap int. shafts from the b16 to the teg shaft do u need to swap oil seals on the trans too. i picked up an integra int shaft but it leaks oil. that ring on the trans side of the int. shaft that butts up to the trans is a little bent, straightened it the best i could. just wondering if i need to swap seals or find a new int. shaft.

Wierd. I bought an axle for an 88 integra ls and I was planning on switching the end of it but I compared it to the axle I already had and it was identical, except it was just a little shorter. It fit right in perfectly and it's now driving just fine. Why did it work with out me switching the inner end?
