torque mounts vs torque damper
just as the title says, i just swaped a b16 into an EG, i was wondering what would be better to do.. the 2 front torque mounts or to buy an engine torque damper? or possibly both?
I hear the torque dampers blow out after a few months. Personally, I wouldn't use one.
Replacing the rear engine mount with a polyurethane mount, or adding a poly insert to the existing mount is the best way to go. Changing the front mounts doesn't help stabilize the engine during acceleration the way that the rear mount does.

its still a good idea to run all the mounts it was designed with. guy I know had an itr in a eg wasn't using either torque mounts and tore the driver side mount out of the block

I've used both, currently, I'm running the mount insers. Personally, though they both seemed to work, Ilike the mounts a little bit better. the damper did blow after a while and the mounts are less bling.
i was running without the torque mouts for a while, and noticed smoother shifts and less engine vibration when i replaced them. i know a guy with the torque damper, and he said that it made a big differece for him, but i dont know abou their quality.
