yes, you can turn the torsion bars. the ride will suck if you go too low, though. you might also have to take it apart and put it on different notches.

my friend's old civic was so rusted that when we rode these rail road tracks here, the torsion bar mount twisted on the floor, lowering the car. not cool. that car was quickly junked out.

with the back, if you cut them, do it smart.

I cranked them down until the nut was flush with the end of the stud.....it sat nice and low, handled great (CRX)

Since they were nylock nuts, I left about 2 or 3 threads exposed on my CRX. Put 14in phone dials on it and it had a nice 2-finger gap between the tire and fender.

I just recently got an 87 civic sedan and would like to lower it the right way as well as I have read you have to get a pan hard bar for the rear and better torsions like 23mm and higher so they are stronger. I plan on just lowering it with the adjustment nut for now. i was curious if anyone had any idea where to get this stuff liek new torsion bars and panhard bar at? and what average prices are for them? also does anyone have any pics of their sedans after being only lowered on the adjustment screw? thanks in advance any help is greatly appreciated
