Hey whats up everyone, well i just graduated last month and my dad asked me what kind of car id like, i told him the new civic si, went to the dealership today they dont have one on site but will be recieveing two next week and ralley red and a blue 1, which color looks best? i want to know, ive been a driver now for just over a year with no accidents under my belt but i do have 3 speeding tickets.. =[ do you think this car is ok for me? also what are the first performance changes i should make to the car? Does anyone own a 06 Si ? Id like to know what you don't like about it. Also i have several friends that are in race team and can get me discounted carbon fiber parts and intakes and exhuasts, which are the best intakes and exhuasts for the car and also if i were to get a carbon fiber trunk is it possible to put the oem spoiler on it? thanx in advance - Tony
Sounds like you need to do some more research before asking questions. If you have 3 speeding tickets in one year, this car is NOT for you. Get a geo metro and slow down. I would hate to see another si totalled by an inexperienced driver. O and of those colors, I would go with the blue because it is exclusive to the si.

Maybe you should follow his advice.
You need to understand more about what you are buying. Sounds like you just like to go fast. Just because you have friends in racing doesn't mean you have the same skills. If you get the car, you should understand the suspension, braking, engine components, etc... You will have fun driving this car, but just research it more since you have only been driving one year.
In addition, if you get this car, make sure you get GAP insurance. This covers you for when you total the vehicle and your insurance will not pay all of the note you financed, which will be the case if something does happen.

I shouldnt even have to say this... but if your dad is buying you this car, get something else.. You wont take care of it, because you didnt buy it.

True, he is right. You shouldn't get it. Do you even know how to keep the maintenance up on your car? I think you should buy an older Si and learn about them more and then tune it up. Plus, it would give you more driving time, and more time to lower your insurance costs if you keep your record clean. But I doubt you pay for that either.

Ok you guys have sum stuff wrong, i have been driving for over 2 1/2 years idk where you guys got i only have 1 year of exp. as for my record it is clean i used a laywer at all 3 speeding ticket trials and got no points and record is clean , i am paying for the car it is goin in my fathers name becuase my credit is not built up enuff yet to finance 24k so i will be taking care of it.
WOW, Must be nice to be able to afford a Lawyer that takes care of speeding tickets whenever they pop up. This more than likely means daddy is rich and will get you anything you want. In which case why settle for an 06 Si? Go for something more exotic like a Z06 or a Porsche Cayman. Now that is a car I would get if daddy was buying
My first car was a 67 Plymouth Satelite and I worked it off sacking groceries at Marsh grocery stores. I have had 2 speeding tickets in over 20 years of driving, unfortunately I wasn't able to afford a lawyer and I actually had to pay for them which in turn taught me a valuable lesson. "Don't speed if you can't afford the consequences" In your case money may not matter, however there are other issues involved. By driving recklessly you may think you impress others but you also endanger others that you may not be aware off. It is very easy for something to jump out at you in the road and if you are not prepared it could not only hurt you but others around you. I don't want to preach but sometimes it is better to not always be bailed out by daddy and to take some responsibility yourself. Believe me it will make you appreciate things more.
