Default Check out the quality of my One-Fab top mount

I did a few pulls on the way back from a honda meet this past weekend. After 3 or 4 pulls i couldnt boost anymore. I finally had a chance to try and find out whats causing the problem. This is what i found:

As you can see from the pics there was not penetration on the welds. I took the maniold to a local welder and had it fixed. I know One-Fab has lifetime warranty against cracking. I didnt want to send him my manifold to fix and have to wait 6month to a year to get it back

do these manifolds not come with support brackets to prevent things like this from happening. i am in no position to critique the welds, i know nothing about it. but i always thought top mounts were just the new fad anyway.

no brackets would have prevented that. The welds looked like it was brazed. Anyways, Arnell told me what happened today. That sucks, no one has any luck between any of us. At least you have a manifold. I have been waiting for mine for about 3 months.

It has nothing to do with that. That is not welded in any way shape or form that resembles quality. It looks like a freaking cold as **** fusion weld on sch pipe

I'm still shocked............

On another note, a lot of times companies won't warranty a header or manifold if its been wrapped up like that.

Héhéhé...

his weld,s where looking sooooo pretty... he was prolly welding at 30 amp to get THIS much penetration...

neway, really easy fix, the pipe should be bevelled and fitted back in place, then welded, man, while your at it, get the whole manifold welded back up in every seems...

keep up, it's just a bad weld's... I really hope he didn't sold a lot of manifold welded that way. seem like just a root pass at low amp without bevel = faggy penetration...

This is actually almost funny. But not really. Me thinks the ENTIRE thing needs to be rewelded.

a friend of mine at brauning motorsports has a Peak Boost mani that had a section of about a 1/4in. of pipe that was never welded. Mark has a nice Miller Tig in the shop so he finished it but was kinda mad he paid for an unfinished product.

One thing i can say is, mistakes can happen to anyone. Hopefully we can all keep them to a minimum.
