as the title says, i'm looking into getting 16s for my 98 civic hatch 5x114.3... and i am just wondering how this affects performance? I know that it'll be easier to get a wider tire in a 16... but the main reason i'm going 16 is for wheel selection...

Now i am just mainly going to be doing some open track days and maybe attend an autoX event here and there, not a hard core autoX or track car... are 16s better? or are 15s better for this?

well, it's a jdm type R so i think it's 4.4.... and is there any reasons to saying 15 inch is better?

 

lower weight is always better, so my vote is 15's as well. tires will make more difference though.

 

welll not weight really but... you wanna be able to fit the smallest and widest wheels that clear your brakes (while staying legal of course)

 

imo...no reason to run bigger than 15's unless you can fit tires wider than 225 without totally killing your gearing
