Default Electric Supercharger

I was looking on ebay for some parts for my 90 CX and i came by an electric supercharger. The idea sounded a bit sketchy to me so I tried to do some reasearch but drew a blank. Does anyone know about these? Woould it completely wreck my sohc engine? I heard superchargers work better with sohc, is this true?

Forced induction be it Turbo or Supercharger have pros and cons on SOHC, DOHC, I4, I6, V6, V8 etc. The electric supercharger will give you a bit of increase in power but for the money it isn't worth it. They are not really that great. Essentially they are a boat blower motor that pushes a little more air into the intake so you get my 1-2 PSI.

In all I would not waste my money.

Electric superchargers tend to fall in to two categories...
1. The commonly hawked scam made up of a glorified hair dryer on the intake.

2. A real supercharger powered by an electric motor instead of belt driven off the crank. It really works but requires two additional full size car batteries and is drained after maybe a dozen runs with diminishing performance after six runs. Nice idea, but a bit impractical for the money involved
