hi all - i know theres somebody out there that can help ME !
I have spent the last few weeks reading thro wiring diagrams and im even more confused now.

Im doing a mini vtec conversion with a civic B16a1 engine - All im trying to do is to get it started to see if it actually runs...
Im using stock ECU and wiring harness.
i dont have the honda key or igntion switch.
Could someone tell me how to get it started ? which wires do i need to attach to get it running ?

I have located the starter motor (white/black thick) and this turns over is a live is added.

i have never done any electrics so a - how - to - for dummies will be great !
any help is greatly appreciated.

Pictures of any looms you have idenifyin which wires to use will be ideal.

It would be a lot of easier if you would tell us what are you doing for a start.

What car, what engine, what ECU etc.

Im using a B16a1 1.6 DOHC VTEC engine, from a civic aged around 1990.
Standard ECU - Type: PWO E00
All this is going into a classic mini.

So you are running a OBD-0 PW0, with B16A1. So what was the problem again? You dont get it started, well tell us what you have done already?

You need a Injector resistor from 88-91 Civic/CRX multi point fuel injection models. B16A1 engine loom for a start, and passenger compartment loom would be good option.

 

Get a Honda Ignition set, whats the big deal there? You dragged an entire chassis harness into a Mini - do the same with the rest of the componenets you're lacking.

I can't imagine taking on a project like that without knowing wiring, there's alot more to tackle than just getting the engine to start. Do you want lights to work?
Is everything properly fused?

You really need to be able to read and understand the wiring diagrams, anything can be done once you actually know what you're looking at and aren't guessing.
Guessing on wiring can burn your car to the ground if you aren't careful.
