ok i got a replacement key made today at home depot and the guy asked me if it had a chip in it becuase if it doesnt then it will fry the ignition...i told him i didnt think that the car did (89 civic) because i didnt think they did that til later on. anyways my question is, do i need to get a new one from honda? and if so how much is it going to cost me? thanks.

 

Nope, we dont have immobilizers.
