axle help

Is it possible to over tighten the end axle nut at the rodors to a point where it will have troube turning?

no way,,,,you gotta stake that bitch down..i do every swap ive done and never had a problem,,

WHat engine swap do you have?

edit - i see b16a in your sig,,did you remove the dust shields from inside the knuckles?

nope but i noticed when i leave the axle nut a little loose the tires have no problem spinning then i tighten them down and i cant get them to budge and my brake pedal is really really tight, also when i loosen my axle the break pedal isnt tight

unless that car has worked fine like that before, then you better remove the 'dust shields' from the inside of the hubs. they're about 2" in diameter, just pry out

Yes, a few customers with swaps have came in with this problem. We have wheel spacers that go between the axle and the hub, this prevents the axle from going into the hub to deep. Yes and the dust shields were removed.

so what would be suggested to fix this problem, i mean i left them loose before and drove around with them although i can hear them wiggling as i drive and i can wiggle them by hand when lifted in the air

Ok, dont drive around with the axle nuts loose..thats very dangerous.....

What i reccomend is to remove the dust shields from inside the knuckles and tighten down the nut untill its real tight...then test it to see if its still binding...if its not then beat the lip on the nut so its locked and enjoy

how would i go about removing the dust shields. The dust sheilds are just the little piece of sheet metal behind the rotors right?

Inside the hub, and there is one on the axle itself. Look up in the search, you will see the pics.

ok well i found the problem, when i took out my axles the rotors still had the old dust guards from my old swap all good to go thanks again
