I'm having a problem with my Accord, and thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions before I take it in to my overpriced auto repairman. When I am idling at a stoplight etc. the engine "hitches". It does not shut off or stall, and it only does it intermittently right now. It also sometimes does it when the car is idling in park as well as drive, but not as much. It seems to do after the car has been driven awhile, on short trips it doesn't "hitch". I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions or info anyone may have!

Thanks for the reply! I finally figured it out: duh silly me, it was a loose spark plug wire. It looked like it was OK at first, but on closer examination turned out to be loose. There was oil on the end of the plug wire, do you know if this is normal or does it indicate some other problem?

 

Get a light and see if there is oil in your spark plug wells. You'll need to replace the valve cover o-rings.
