i have an 2001 honda accord... with some wacked aftermarket alarm... so im not sure about the trunk release... i was wondering if the LX comes with factory trunk release... or is it only on the EX? thanks let me know...

Yes, it was only standard on the EX so your LX isn't equiped with it.

You can add the Honda trunk release to your LX if you wanted to but I'm assuming that it would only work with Honda's remote entry or security system (which you can also add).

For my 2000 accord coupe LX I purchase the remote door lock on ebay but didn't add the trunk release option. I think it only works with the honda remote entry since I think it's all prewired (when I installed my honda remote entry system I don't need to cut any wires), so I presume the factory trunk release is also like that.

 

I'm assuming that the trunk opener option for the LX is the same trunk opener that comes standard with the EX keyless entry/alarm system. If that's true, than the trunk opener will also work with aftermarket alarms.

An aftermarket alarm will just tap the same wires that the Honda alarm/keyless entry uses to pop the trunk.

 

is there any other way then getting the oem honda one? how much would an aftermarket trunk opener cost? thanks

 

I don't know how much an aftermarket opener would cost, or if they're even available. You'll need to call a shop or something for prices...
