Before anything it's 1st Gen B16 with a b16 cable tranny, hasport linkage and mounts.

Ok so i went to go pick up some fireworks last night and while i'm driving home i'm in 4th gear and it doesn't wanna go in 5th at all, like theres nothing there. so i slow down a little and try 3rd, and nope, same thing won't go in. I'm like sh*t wtf happened.

It's happened to me before where it won't let me go in third sometimes, usually i'll just go to 4th and later put it into third and it's fine.

So anyway yesterday i get to a redlight and it won't go in anything but 4th and reverse. So i go into a praking lot, turn the car off, pop the hood check out my tranny and i get back in the car while it's off and still nothing but 4th and reverse.

So i start the car, put it in 4th and it goes reverse!!!! WTF!!!! and it feels/looks like it'll let me put it in 2nd too and it goes reverse too!!!! UGH!!!

So the top gears like 1,3,5 don't go in at all.

and the bottom gears 2,4,R go reverse....

What the expletive happened?? Tranny, Clutch, Linkage???? i haven't had time to look under the car cause of work but ****. I'm stumped. I'll probably drop the tranny friday. what do i look for???

tranny has grinded in 3rd for a while but **** who's doesn't. 4th does at high RPMS.

Help me out guys. PLZ.

sounds like 90% of cable b16 tranny's, looks like ur gunna need to find a new tranny.

 

any other ideas....?
