Is it stock suspension? If not my first guess would be the tophat of the spring/shock assembly. Is the tie rod end good?

i had a car with the same problem the other day.. check out the boots at the end of the steering rack that cover the inner ball joints.. if they have holes in them water can get in and cause your inner tie rod joints to rust causing squeeking and grinding.. just an idea to throw out there

Inspect for torn boots and bushings. Look at the tie rod ends, balljoints, bushings, etc... and cv joints also.
