yea..thanks for rubbing it in our faces, just some of us poor college kids can't affoard a k-series doesn't mean you tease us with aftermarket better then oem parts FOR the k-series. ahaha, but back to the subject...i got a shitty ebay short "throw" shifter, in my opinion it was ok for the money, the throw was drastically reduced at the same time it was higher up closer to the steering wheel!

Hey now you can get a k20a3 for @ 1500 for a swap, then 750 for mounts. Then you can have stock b16 hp, more torque and a cool shifter. Not to mention that it will be much newer and better shape.

K20A3 specs:
Displacement: 1998 cc
Compression: 9.8:1
Power: 160 hp (119 kW) @ 6500 rpm
Torque: 141 ft·lbf (191 N·m) @ 4000 rpm
Redline: 6800 rpm

Plus it runs on 87 octane fuel and has VTEC-E for better fuel economy.

pffft..thats like going to a *****-house and picking the ugly-rejected-cheap ones....they're cheaper for a good reason and you're still getting laid in the end but just knowing you could've had better sex with just a bit more money is what will kill you!

LOL you just got siged. BTW you could always do a head swap later, and own all. Stock for stock a k20a3>b16a1, it may be cheap and rejected, but hell take advantage of it. It is of course new too. It is likely that the tranny would be nice and smooth too. Finding a mint B16 cable tranny is like finding a ***** in a monastery. Anyway lets not jack this thread back on topic please. If you stick with B or D series, get the shifter Targa250R has.

awesome haha i feel honored...i guess? but yea i totally agree an k-a3 over a b16a any day, given the younger age and just the k-series alone is just a force to be reckoned with, but i wanna experience the k-series in full force if do invest any money in a k-series heh, but yea the idea of doing a head swap later does sound good and also the mount kit is ridiculously expensive too $750? i'm hoping the price will come down aroudnw when i need a new motor hehe

Well, not just the mounts, don't you have to get stuff like shift linkage, axles..... BTW, since you guys are talking about how hard it is to find a good cable b16 tranny, i had i question: would a lsd tranny from hmotorsonline be crappy? I mean, would there be grinds and such. Thanx

Dont know what brand mine is , but i got it out of an 88 Prelude at a junkyard. Just stuck it in my pocket and walked out , only thing i had to do to modify it was change the plastic thing the ball end goes in , to the stock one from the Rex. works great.

What's the throw like on that? Looks pretty badass, might be nice for autox too.

Throw is about the same as stock, but you have more leverage. It's excellent for the one shift I have to do on most autocross runs

bought the edelbrock with the energy suspensions bushings and its extremelyyyyyy better than stock and is short as **** to. It was either the edelbrock which they had of the dual bend s2 which they didnt and was more $$$$. But the edelbrock is kinda like a mustang shifter meaning the shifter is bent towards the driver.

Edit...ive also heard NOTHING but good things about the hurst shifter, that woulda been my third choice.

I'm rocking the modified DC integra shifter (from GSR). Works like a charm, and was cheaper than the crappy e-bay shifters to boot!
