Okay, I bought the car last Sept. and was told there was a new compressor put in. I didn't think to ask for a receipt so I will have to take that in a grain of salt. The air was cold as hell last year. This year once it got warm out the air wasn't the slightest bit cool. I put a couple cans of freon in thinking all it needed was a charge and I got absolutely nothing. It never blew a bit of cold air. Can anyone help me out? I am going out of town this weekend and need that AC, thanks H-T

did you put the freon in right?
and also, it matters if you put the right amount in.

On the left side, looking in the hood, (i think) there should be a sticker saying how many oz's you should put in.

you can rent a vacuum from autozone, as well as the gauges so you can put in the right amount, and there is freon with dye, so you can see where the leak is coming from, but since you added freon it sounds like the compressor clutch isnt kicking on

 

its not freon, its refrigerant

 

Yeah I put it in right, same way I charge my wife's car last year.
