Default Oil Recommended for 5th Generation Accord

Does anyone have any recommendations for which oil brand/viscosity to use in a stock 1994 f22 vtec?

Have been using Castrol Formula R 5W-30, but am finding that it is not currently available at the local autoshops. There is a Shell alternative, I can not recall the name at this moment, but it is a 5W-40 grade. Surely this should not be an issue.

So I am just wondering what oils any other owners have been using, or what people in the know would recommend.

Cheers

I use Castrrol syntec Blend 10/30. I have heard nothing but good things about royal purple, but it's pricey...

5W-30 F22b2 with 127k and oil changes every 5,000 miles.............haven't had a serious enginge problem. Of course my front/rear motor mounts have seen better days and the "power" windows are slow as hell.................nevertheless, no serious engine problems w/ 5W-30.

I know what you mean about the slow power windows, Ramoneguru.

Thanks for all of your comments. Seems that I'll stick to 5W-30.

squirt windex down the sides of the windows, then roll your windows up and down a few times THEN squirt the sides again with HOT water and roll the windows up and down again. This should clena up all the dirt and allow your windows to roll up and down quickly. Ive tried it on my 88 civic and it works

You should consider how often and how much do you drive. What is the average temperature of when you are driving, conditions and etc.
Some of the oil gallons will have a little chart indicating what should suit you best depending on these conditions.
