Default Adding and/or removing a resonator

I read that people said if the performace muffler is too loud, add another resonator.

I think that is funny to have two of them

Question, is the stock resonator better or worst then the aftermarket?

Then there are those that are resonator/muffler. Are they better? In otherwords, two mufflers?

Instead of putting on 2, I have customers that order different lengths. For example, someone had a 12" resonator which is quite small. Then they opted for the 20" to get rid of more of the raspy-ness.

I have two on my car, no muffler (turbo'd). Although its an ef, it has a z6 in it. I got 18" and 24" summit resonators, both 3". With it NA (long story), stock manifold & cat, it had no raspyness to it. Compaired to my brother's old y8 with a greddy evo on it, it sounded sick. His sounded like a regular raspy fart can. To recap- 3" with oem mani/cat, 2 resonators/no muffler - loud, but tasteful for a sohc.

So... the after market ones usually are bigger, but a bit noisier and not as long-lasting. I'd say go with an extra-long aftermarket one, and you'll be happy. From what I've gathered, the preferated cores are a medium sound, the 'spiral' types (leuvered, somewhat restrictive) are quiet until you near vtec.

Magnaflow 14815.

Do most of you just live with droning? Some say it's only in 4 cylinders, but my only other experience is in Toyota Tundra V8 with performance mufflers. Yes, it drones too.
