Default Does this look right? (56k warning)

I had my suspension put on by a local tuner shop because all the bolts were severly frozen on teh car and I don't have neither a torch or air tools which the shop has to aid in the install...They got it back to me the same day however getting it home I noticed the fronts were slammed and the rear wheels looked alittle higher....So i figured i would take off the wheel to see if i could lower it more and this is what i discored....

Is that right??? I thought that the sleeve was supose to go on the bottom? COuld this be causing my higher then normal suspension? Sorry for the question...I,m use to just reg lowering springs so coilovers are new to me so before i question the shop...i would like you guys to re-assure me one way or the other

Here are a few pics of the front drop......I think it looks really sweet

BEFORE......

AFTER........

Thanks!

holy crap i would go back and scream at them!

EDIT: the sleeve sits at the bottom, and you may want to thread the collar up a bit

um...yea...that looks hella wrong...you're right, the sleeves are suppose to go on the bottom so when you adjust them, they go up and down...i've done dozens of installs and that's definitely wrong...

Your sleeves are suppose to be on the bottom and the springs on top. In simple terms the silver part should be on the bottom and the red on top. Give them hell and tell them thats how to do it.

thats how suspensions collapse. that is wrong, tell them they need to refund your money, and install tehm correctly. or just have them refund you. name the shop please so that none goes there.

Ok wow! I had a strong feeling it was wrong but i didn't want to sound like a noob by going right out and attacking someone.

I orginally set up the suspension in the first picture.....I put that in my trunk and left it for the shop...Whatever the shop did was how it turned out.

I am kinda worried now cause I don't want my suspension to be shot now that they installed in backwards.....Not to mention REALLY REALLY agravated because this is my 4th of july and i have other things to worry about other then my sol, hence why i orginally brought it to the shop...cause i don't have the time, tools, or knowledge to install a full suspension will all frozen bolts....

So tomorrow I am going to be going back to the shop and getting this resolved........How do you suggest I handle this? I don't want to go on an all out attack, i just want to have things made right and maybe a slight compensation for this huge and potentially dangerous inconvience.

Thanks everyone!

p.s. They are skunk2 coilovers on KYB AGX struts....I made sure i got good quality parts to avoid safety isssues.....AHHHHH I am so pissed right now

Just go in and calmly tell them they put it together backwards and you want it fixed, for free, and immediately - no questions or comments, they have to.
And when you go, take the picture of how theyre supposed to be, so the retard that does it, knows which way is correct.

Before I go all off...Your right pdigg...I should just go there calmy and have them fix it....No use yelling cause they might give me a harder time. If they give me a hard time right from teh get go...then i guess it will just be an added headach

I got 2 questions.......

1st.....Does anyone have any pictures of how it SHOULD look (for the rears)....I am to agrivated to start browsing the internet.

2ed.....I am bringin the car in teh shop tomorrow to have the wrongs corrected......But my question is, is the car ok to drive on? I don't want to break anything or cause harm.....Any precautions i should take?

Come on, why do you need a picture.. I believe that you did it wrong then saw pictures online and decided to ask before you rip it apart again...

Othewise, why wouldn't you make it a point to mention the brain dead morons and the shop that you took it to?

Take the suspension apart and do it right, then post up next time telling the truth.

So that I am not totally uninformative:

1) Break the tension on the lug nuts on both sides of the car (do not completely remove the lug nuts, for hopefully obvious reasons)
2) Lift rear of vehicle with a jack
3) Place Jack stands under the jack point on the left and right side of the car
4) make sure the vehicle is safely supported
5) Remove lugs and wheels and set aside
6) loosen the nut that holds the bottom portion of the strut to the lower control arm
7) loosen the two nuts that hold the top hat to the chassis
8) remove the complete strut and coilover
9) grab the correct size metric allen wrench and place it inside the top of the strut to ensure snug fitment
10) grab the correct size wrench (12mm I believe) place it on the nut, stick the allen wrench through the hole and apply counter torque to the strut while you loosen the nut
11) slide top hat off, flip the sleeve over and slide inside the bottom of the spring
12) Follow the same directions backwards to re-install everything......

This is correct, it just needs top hats bolted on, and then installed onto the car.

I would not drive it, except directly to the shop. Even then, Id be super super careful.
Hopefully, this has not damaged the top hat's spring seat...
