problems with my d16z6
ok so my prior posts were about CEL's that my car was throwing after i swapped a d16z6 for another d16z6, i got rid of all the CEL's except for one, which is the ECT, i have no idea what that is. ok so apart from the CEL its running like sh**, it starts, idles fine, then i take it out for a drive, if i get on the throttle and hammer it, it will run fine, then when i come to a stop, the motor dies and doesnt want to turn on, and if it does start, it will sputter then die out, it will do this until it is cooled down, and keeps going. Also noticed that if i dont smash it, and drive normal, when its idling, it randomly misfires, any ideas on that? another thing i noticed is that my tach in the das is jumpy, say i rev it to like 2k rpm, it jump all over as if it has static or something, someone plase shine some light on me, because im running out of ideas and getting angrier and angrier.... thanks guys
The ECT is a sensor on the thermostat, double check your wiring on it/it's plugged in.
Hmm, if you tach is jumpy it sounds like a wiring issue, could be the tach itself going out, hard to say though.
Hmm, I'm no help.

from my experience a jumpy tach has always been a bad ignitor. my ECT is located just under the dizzy to the right of the wire that sends the signal to the temp. gauge.
